Your surroundings can determine which bass fishing lures, you will use. Just as in any sport, the situation can vary from one circumstance to another. A golfer will use a specific club for the situation he finds himself in. A tennis player will use a specific racket for playing on grass.

Learn which bass fishing lures work best for each location, what works best at different times of the day and which one works best in different seasons.

A frog lure makes it necessary to use a 7 foot pole or longer. You can give them a dragonfly silhouette by feathering the legs and clipping outside the skirt.

For a much more natural look in the water, paint some dots or a design on any of your bass fishing lures.

Check out the color of the water and use a bass fishing lure that matches the darkness or lightness of it. This will help make your lures look like a real insect. Use Perl or light-colored lures in clear water. When fishing in muddy waters use a dark-colored lure, this will help to blend in to the surroundings making the lure look more real.

Your lures are made to imitate an insect or bug so study the natural movement of those bugs for more success. Live insects don't just sit on the water, they jump and wiggle, they fly into and off the surface. This action makes them very attractive to a hungry bass.

Learn to cast and retrieve your lures to make them look natural and lifelike. You can learn this art with a lot of patience and practice. You don't have to be on the water to practice, you can practice in your backyard.

Continue to practice long distance casting this is more important than the trajectory of your cast. Also your retrieval is very important when using bass fishing lures.

Many pro fishermen prefer another type of bass fishing lure called swimbait. As they are pulled along these lures look like small minnows due to the fact that they have two sections to their bodies. Swimbait works real well early in the day when bass are just starting to feed.

Casting and retrieving to make a bass fishing lure look real is just as important as using the correct lure.

You need to be able to cast any distance necessary to put the lure in front of the bass while making it look like a tasty morsel so they will strike. Placing your cast successfully is important in bass fishing.

Come to San Diego and you will end up sitting on the beach. As you are, you will probably notice the boats cruising offshore with people fishing. Simply put, the fishing off the coast is tremendous and makes for a good day trip.

Just what is deep sea fishing? It is a trip ranging from half a day to three or four days. On one day trips or less, you board the boat at the crack of dawn and fish during the day. On longer trips, you usually leave at night so you can sleep on the way out to the fishing grounds.

The waters off of San Diego are excellent for fishing. The warm waters and kelp beds provide a perfect habitat. The prime location is between three to ten miles offshore. The fish in this area are plentiful and include some great game fish.

So, what can you expect to catch? The fish include barracuda, Dorado, white sea bass, sand bass, calico bass, and mackerel. Take a longer trip out to the 60 mile point and you can catch Skipjack, Albacore and a variety of big Tuna.

The boat trip options in San Diego really come down to two spots. In the center of town, you will find a number of boats leaving from San Diego Harbor. Oceanside is the second spot in the North County area. You can also charter a boat, but bring your big wallet.

The deep sea boating operations in San Diego range from the slick corporate option to the salty dog captain on his own boat. Each has pros and cons, so you will just have to go with whatever grabs you as a good choice.

With three boats, San Diego Sportfishing, Inc., is one of the larger operations in San Diego. Based in Point Loma, the outfit focuses on one day or partial day trips, but is available for longer trips if you want to charter the boat.

The Fish Taxi is a deep sea fishing option out of Oceanside. Captain Don Nelson helms the 32 foot Radovich Sportfisher, a six foot passenger boat. Fish Taxi is strictly a charter boat, so make sure to contact Don at 1.800.593.1234 to check the latest rates.

If you have never been on a deep sea fishing trip make sure you prepare properly. It is going to be cool in the early morning, so dress warmly. It is going to heat up later, so make sure to have a change of clothes. As always, wear sunscreen.

The second issue to consider is sea sickness. The boat is going to roll, even if it is a large boat. Yes, we are all tough men and women, but it does not really matter. Getting sea sick on a trip is horrific. Make sure to take sea sickness preventive measures.

San Diego has a lot to offer visitors. From the beaches to the famous zoo, there is a lot to do. If you like fishing, make sure you take at least a half day trip to check out the deep sea fishing off the coast.

by Bryan Jakes

Fishing from a boat can just make the whole sport that much more enjoyable.

The fishing sport and the boating recreation activity are becoming more and more popular for people to take off up to the lake or down the river to enjoy their favorite fishing hole.

Take note of these safety tips so you can make your boating event more enjoyable. Do this before you set sail to get in some real fishing.

1. Check the rating on your boat to see what size engine you can safely handle. Overpowering a boat can get you into real trouble.

2. Slowdown when you are near other boats. Don't operate too close to swimmers and other fishermen. Make sure you pay attention to any warning signs that are posted on the waterways. Treat the waterways just like you do the highway. Drive safely and courteously.

3. By positioning your boat at the correct angle to the shore. You can enhance your fishing experience. Make sure other boaters can see you as they approach.

4. Stow all your equipment. Make sure you have all your fishing and boating needs before you leave the shore. It's a good idea to have a checklist that you can laminate and keep with the boat to make sure you have all your necessary items, especially an anchor, enough fuel, and battery power to last you the duration of your trip.

5. Check your safety equipment, make sure that you have a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, flares, at least one oar, and a life vest for each occupant.

6. As you're moving from one fishing spot to the next always pay attention to where you're going. If you need to stop to check your graphs or your flashers do this, Rather than driving the boat and allowing yourself to be distracted. Keep focused on your surroundings, as you would in a car.

By following these safety tips, you're sure to have a safe and exciting fishing and boating experience. Once you've got the fishing bug. You'll be anxious to go fishing again and again.

by Bryan Jakes

Fishing can be a fun and exciting time for your family as long as nothing goes wrong. Danger lurks out there for the unsuspecting and unprepared.

Preparation and precautions taken ahead of time can save you a lot of grief in the end. Preparing ahead of time for tangled lines, bad weather and other fishing equipment malfunctions can save the day.

When you've snagged your hook in the underbrush or your lines are all tangled go ahead and take immediate action to get it loose before you have a bigger mess on your hands. Sometimes it's easier just to break off the snag or the twig than to try to untangle it. Tangled lines can sure be frustrating.

If you cast your line toward a big log and have the unfortunate experience of it slipping over the top and getting hung up where you can't reach it. You break the line and leave your hook or lure but this can often cause problems for fish in the area if they see that lure bobbing in the water, grab it and can't get loose. Or maybe they'll even get hung up when you're gone back home, this can spell disaster for the fish.

You should keep a first aid kit in your tackle box. It is possible to get cuts and abrasions while going through the brush to your fishing spot or just hooking yourself on a wild hook. A first aid kit should have bandages, Band-Aids, cotton, paper towels, peroxide and medicated spray.

If you are fishing with live or frozen bait you can divide them in order to not run out before your fishing trip is over. A piece of a wiggly worm is better than no worm at all.

Prepare for the weather you will be experiencing during your fishing trip. Check the weather report and keep track of it daily. You will have a better idea of what clothes and fishing equipment to bring with you. This will ensure a better chance of having a nice comfortable trip.

When you are out on a lake or river watch the sky, tracking the weather is a great safety precaution to keep you out of trouble. If a storm should pop up suddenly head for shore. Be aware of weather conditions even on land so as not to get caught in a flash flood or lightning strikes.

Being prepared for most challenges and keeping safety foremost in your mind will help you to have a great fishing trip.

Are you not catching any trout and others are bringing home more than stories about how the big one got away? Let's help change your attitude and lift your confidence with some basics.

If you are new to trout fishing you need to know about current fishing methods. Along with the current methods you need to know what kind of bait you will need, what size hook will hold your bait and what type of rod and line you will use to cast the hook with bait.

Are you confused about what choice is best for your desired location for trout fishing? It doesn't get any better when you walk down the long aisles of a sporting goods store and the selection is overwhelming.

Once you get past all the overwhelming variety of tackle and get right down to trout fishing as a sport. You can have a lot of fun. The anticipation and suspense that goes with the thrill of fishing is something you will want to revisit over and over. It is truly a satisfying fun filled experience.

All types of fish behave differently and this will determine what you do to try to catch them. The body of water you are fishing in whether it is a lake, river, or stream will make a difference and cause the same type of fish to act differently.

The different species of hatchery trout will act differently from wild trout in the same body of water whether it is a river, stream, or lake.

The best anglers in the world can be challenged with a difficult trout so with this knowledge you might as well relax and have fun with the anticipation of the fight on your hands.

There are generally a few factors that are outside of your control and this can impact your fishing experience. Elevation, seasons, and type of geography that you are fishing in can impact your fishing experience and sometimes it won't always be the best experience.

A life of fishing has taught many great fisherman how to deal with the surprises that can happen in an unpredictable sport such as fishing. This unpredictability is what draws a lot of people to it. Just be aware that things can happen such as bad weather, falls on slippery slopes, getting soaked in a rainstorm, or not being careful and cutting yourself on a sharp hook.

A few of the common hybrid trout are bowcutt trout, splake trout, and tiger trout. The trout category include about eight species gila trout, rainbow trout, golden trout, and lake trout.

The type of fish you catch will depend on where you live and what type of tackle you use. Go have fun on your fishing expedition.

Have a successful fishing trip. For more information go to The Daiwa Shop at http://www.thedaiwa.com/

The kids are excited to spend the day out on the boat. You've just unpacked everything from the car and are ready to put it all on the boat. This is going to be a beautiful afternoon out on the water. As you prepare to cast off you open the cabin and are suddenly overwhelmed by a foul stench. The smell is more than anyone can stand. Everyone is upset, as the planned voyage has to be cancelled.

Could this have been averted? Of course it could. There are many products on the market that would have effective in this situation but the big question is: are they safe? Are they green?

There is clearly a "green revolution" going on in the world. Everyone is trying to do their part to save the environment. This is definitely true among the boating crowd. It is imperative to the future of the waterways that we use products that are eco-friendly. No one wants to sail in polluted waters.

The use of GREEN, EPA Approved products allows you to treat the situation n a safe manner. If accidently spilled, they cause no problem to people or the planet. Safe enough to drink, these products can eliminate odors, kill babteria and prevent mold and mildew.

You can safely protect yourself, your family, and your boat from mold and mildew using a Green product. What boat doesn't have some mold or mildew issues?

Cooking odors are another concern while on board. Using an everyday airfreshener just adds harmful VOC's to the air. In a small cabin this could be very dangerous to you or your family. A Green odor eliminator is odorless, and will not give off any harmful VOC's as it contains no harmful chemicals.

You want to be prepared for situations like the one at the beginning of this article. It is necessary to have something on board before it is needed. And you want this product to be safe, not only for you and your family, but for pets and around food. Don't choose a product that is not safe. Look at the label for product warnings and ingrediants. Remember, most products that have a scent contain harmful chemicals. Green products should be odorless and safe. Keep in mind "Clean has no Odor

There are thousands of live-bait anglers, who are excellent sportsmen, but the fly fisherman can practice better conservation from the beginning.

by Les Freeman

There are thousands of live-bait anglers, who are excellent sportsmen, but the fly fisherman can practice better conservation from the beginning.

Basically, fly fishing is not only one of the fastest growing sports; it is one of the foremost forms of conserving natural resources as well as providing aquatic recreation.

Fly fishing is, very simple when three things are right: you must have a suitable rod; you must get a line to match it; and you must learn correct casting technique.

For people who wish to know some tips on fly fishing, here is a list of some pointers that could help anglers harness their fly fishing skills:

1. Material of the rod

For one of moderate means, and especially for the beginners, hollow glass is advised since it will require less care than bamboo and will not take a set if improperly handled or stored.

2. Line

Your fly casting skill will not progress with a mismatched rod and line. About 99 times in 100, the troubled fly caster has a line much too light to bring out the action of his rod.

That is why it is important to know that on any given rod, the fly fisherman should use the same size line for anything from small trout and bluegills up to the largest sea fish.

In choosing the size line, anglers should get a C level, an HCH double-taper, or a GBF three-diameter. This choice is based on the fact that a high percentage of fly rods bought nowadays are hollow glass, and that a great majority of these works best with lines of those sizes, almost regardless of lengths or weights.

3. The correct casting technique

In casting, it is important to get about 20 feet of line out front. Anglers should always remember to cast a straight line. Avoid jerky movements even if it is on a faster mode in order to do so.

Best of all, the angler should be relaxed because taunt muscles will ruin his casting

Boiled down, there should be no reason why you should not learn the fundamental principles just as easily as those who now enjoy fly fishing.

Probably, the best and surest way to learn to cast successfully is to spend a day on the stream with some fisherman who is a competent caster.

Lessons learned on the stream are the best tips you can acquire anywhere in your quest for learning fly fishing.

Fly fishing is a style of fishing which has remained highly popular for centuries. Today the sport is popular throughout the world with various fly fishing resorts to be found in such diverse places such as Alaska and Scotland. Part of the appeal of the sport has to do with the unique challenges and the fine skills that the angler is required to master in order to catch his quarry.

Most important in fly fishing is the piece of equipment known as the fly (hence the name!). Flies are artificial lures which have been created using various materials but usually following a well known fly pattern. Different fly patterns are often used in different locations and weathers and if one fails to work then it is likely that a change to another pattern will lead to success. Some fly patterns have been used in fly fishing for a great many years and are widely known to anglers.

The fly is usually designed with two things in mind, that is, it should behave like, and look like, the natural food of the fish. The fly patterns usually attempt to make to fly look like a creature which the fish will usually eat but made in such a way as it also moves in the water in a similar fashion.

The appearance of the fly is further enhanced by other pieces of fly fishing equipment such as the fly fishing rod, line and reel. All of the equipment has to be finely balanced to ensure that it creates the perfect conditions for the perfect cast while remaining sufficiently strong reel in your quarry.

It is incredibly important that every item of fly fishing equipment is of the highest quality. All items should be both extremely strong and yet also as light in weight as possible. With fly fishing rods it is also important that the rod is also flexible and springy to ensure that a good cast can be made in the vast majority of situations. Fly fishing rods are commonly available in lengths from seven foot to around nine foot.

High on the list of wanted fly fishing equipment of many anglers of today is a set of high quality waders. Modern materials have been created which allow lightweight waders to be "breathable" which means that the angler can remain dry and cool while fly fishing in the river. Besides waders there are many other items and accessories which vary in importance from the necessary to the superfluous.

One of the beauties of the sport of fly fishing is that it can be relatively cheap to get started. It is possible to buy a cheap fly fishing kit from most sports shops and it is also possible to hire equipment in some places reducing the initial outlay considerably. However it is strongly advised that you have at least a couple of fly fishing lessons before you go on your first trip, just to get to grips with the basics.

After only a short while the sport of fly fishing becomes extremely addictive and, before long, you will find yourself looking for opportunities to satisfy your appetite for it. While many folk are lucky enough to live in places such as Scotland, Alaska or Colorado, where there are plenty of places where one can go fly fishing, the majority of us have to travel some distance to get the best fishing. However it is relatively easy to book fly fishing vacations which cater for virtually every need of the angler.

Whichever resort or stretch of water you choose to fish it is almost guaranteed that you will have a wonderful time. Such fishing trips can be further enhanced if you travel in a group, and this has the added advantage in the increased that at least one of you will catch a fish on the day.

When your catches are not as you wish there are many tricks to try; and improving the pulling-power of your hook baits is just one of these but it is a massively important one! Carp can be very difficult to tempt when previously hooked before on any bait, so aiming to make your hook baits unique can really pay-off. Liquid bait soaks have always been successful but you can make you own homemade ones very easily...

Oil rich dips and those rich in amino acids are outstanding and can come from simple homemade sources like tinned tuna oil mixed with liver pate and garlic salt for instance. Or maybe try shrimp paste with diluted fruit cordial juice and yeast extract; you do not need to spend a fortune on readymade dips or soaks etc. Don't boil your hook baits; steam them instead to allow far more nutritional attraction and stimulation to release into the water instead of being sealed inside and largely wasted!

Coating your baits in even simple paste or dough bait certainly increases catches. Because most of the stimuli which incite fish feeding are water soluble, it is sensible to get many soluble attractors in your paste for best effect! There are many feeding triggers in fish and using mashed tinned fish like tuna, anchovy or salmon to make paste to go around your hook baits is easy; just mix with eggs and wheat flour or with ground dog mixers to bind!

Many anglers under-exploit their readymade baits they use because they have a relatively impervious surface. You can break-up this surface with a baiting needle, or sharp pointed knife or scissors to get more attraction out of your bait. Making your hook baits irregular shapes with irregular surfaces helps by making fish think your bait has been previously chewed on by other fish and so is safer.

I bet you never tried coating all your free baits with paste as well as your hook baits. You could try fishing a red fish meal hook bait with a pink liver paste or a meat based bait with a fish based paste; just experiment with colours, flavours and any kind of baits together! Even coating particle baits like smaller pellets or tiger nuts with paste is very worth doing!

Try coating pop-up baits with paste to improve the effect and impact. It does not need to correspond to the flavour or base mix colour or anything else to make that essential difference and catching edge you need. Try adding cork granules or cork dust to your paste to make it buoyant or pop-up.

You can add cork granules and other very light or buoyant ingredients to make it float or hang in the water off the bottom or silt or weed for instance. Imagine the advantage of using a buoyant paste around a bottom bait or semi-buoyant bait and how frequently your fish will have had to deal with this! Using buoyant paste around bottom sinking hook baits can seriously save you blank sessions!

You might liquidise your readymade baits and mix with eggs and a little wheat flour or other glue-like ingredients (caseins and caseinates are extremely effective containing high protein levels.) This way you can fish a conventional bait which has an unusual coating which is alternative but different and closely matches your hook bait; there is no doubt about it that fish learn and experiments with goldfish performing tricks using food rewards like dogs shows the 15 second memory is just a myth - carp learn! So do yourself a favour and try being different with your baits especially as it is your the bait that truly hooks your fish and the more you know about bait the more power you will have over your fish!

In the USA boating, whether it is sailboats, fishing boats, yachts or general leisure boats, is a massive industry. It doesn'y matter what kind of boat you have but all owners have something in common. At some point in time they will consider taking care of their boat in one aspect or another. Boat care is a big industry within the boating world.

Most folk desire to keep their pride and joy looking, that's a fact. But what do we mean when we talk about boat care? Well it can be anything from waxing the hull to filling in major scrapes. Boat care is a primary issue in the overall scheme of things and it's nearly as important as knowing how to navigate one!

If you don't care for your boat it can let you down in the most disastrous of situations such as the middle of the ocean 100 miles from shore.

The journey begins by looking at cleaners and waxes currently on the market. You really need to determine which is the correct type for your boat and the method in which your craft will be, or is, stored. Diffrerent products are required for saltwater as opposed to freshwater boats to ensure that the boat has a long longevity.

If you clean, wax and store your boat properly it will be in a great condition to use when you decide to bring the boat out again.

About Boat Care And Products.

There are a wide variety of cleaning products for the boat and it is up to the consumer to do the research and decide which products are best for their particular boat. Finding a good soap is the first priority in boat care.

A good soap will clean every surface inside and out and will not remove any protective wax coating, but it will remove any stubborn dirt residue from the boat.

Your cleaning kit should have, at a minimum, a good spray cleaner that can remove from the surface of your boat all manner of things such as fish blood, bird droppings and grease.

Leaving those filthy remains on the boat could damage your boat in the long run. Another must have for proper boat care is a good finishing wax. The wax not only restores the boat's shine and color, but the wax also helps to protect the boat from the elements.

Saltwater boats can experience build up and corrosion of their paint. Freshwater boats experience mold from the algae and slime found in lake water. These are just a few of the products needed for proper boat care. A good rule of thumb is to always research which products are right for your particular boat.
